About Us

Our Story

The Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department covers more that 272 square miles of Gillespie County in the Texas Hill Country. We currently have 36 active members. Duties of the Fire Department range from fire suppression, fire prevention and first responder aid. There is training on the 1st Thursday of each month and a General Business Meeting on the 3rd Thursday of the month. If you are interested in joining the department or seeing what we do, come out on these nights.

TAX-EXEMPT STATUS

Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department is currently exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue code. We are classified as a public charity under sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1) (A)(vi) of the Internal Revenue code. Contributions to the Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department are deductible under section 170 of the Code, and we qualify to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Internal Revenue code.
